Sixty years ago Millie & Stan Potter founded and built Potter’s Nurseries using their strong and dirty hands and their passionate gardening hearts. Their son, Kent then then took over the Potter’s legacy for 30 years and now, their granddaughter, Dana Potter, is our nursey manager, and she brings the same love and passion to local gardeners.
Potter’s Nurseries is now a division of St. Lawrence Pools, another family owned and operated business in Kingston for 50 years.
Above snapshot of the types of plants and trees you can expect to see in the nurseries this year. We are pleased to be adding vegetables, herbs, annuals & more potted arrangements to our nursery this season.
We invite you to experience the five-star gardening difference our Potter’s Nurseries experts and premium plants can bring to your garden. We source our plant materials from longstanding, Canadian quality nurseries–plants made to thrive for this region.

Why Gardeners Love Potter's
When you pour hours of hard work, money and love into your garden each year, you understand the impact of quality advice from local horticulturalists, and quality plants that make your gardens more durable and sustainable.
The plants we acquire for your garden are cold-hardy for our climate zone. That means, they can withstand our harsh winters better, and they can thrive in our hot summers. For you, this means spending less each year on new plants that did not survive the winter. Most plants, that you find at big box stores are not grown to withstand hard frosts in Canada.
Now, add our horticulturalist team members that each offer their own speaclity planting tips, specific to your garden and you have set yourself up for years of thriving, beautiful gardens.
Create your gardening wish list with all the plants and gardening products you need this season using our NEW “Potter’s Planting Planner”.
Save your list, print it or show it to us on your phone in the nursery to ensure you don’t forget a thing! Then have all your plant information care guides at your finger tips to care for your garden the right way all year round!
